The Defender Storm Shelter – $7,200 Installed
Premium protection doesn’t have to be complicated. The Defender is available for $7,100 with financing options available, professionally installed by the trusted team at JT Services. No gimmicks. Just serious storm protection built for Oklahoma families.
Why Homeowners Trust The Defender
When the sirens go off, you don’t have time to second-guess your shelter. The Defender combines practical design and durable construction to give you peace of mind every step (and storm) of the way.
Built for Comfort and Confidence
- More Headroom, Less Panic
The taller interior provides generous overhead space, making every second underground feel less cramped and a lot more bearable. - Wall-to-Wall Concrete Steps
Full footings and solid stairs make it easier to enter and exit, especially under pressure. - Gentle Slope Entrance
Designed with everyone in mind—kids, grandparents, pets—you name it.
Engineered for Strength and Safety
- Heavier Build, Greater Protection
This isn’t your average shelter. The reinforced waterproof structure is designed to withstand high-wind events without flinching. - Brushed, Slip-Resistant Stair Surface
No tape. No stick-ons. Just a permanently textured surface that reduces fall risk and lasts longer. - Heavy-Duty Gas Shock Assist
A smoother, safer door experience—even when urgency is high, with a 3-point locking system.
Function Meets Curb Appeal
- Larger Entry Door
Because storm safety shouldn't feel like squeezing into a crawlspace. Shelter quickly, easily, and without hesitation. - Built-In Fresh Air Circulation
A 4" four-way vent cap and 8" wind turbine vent promote natural airflow while maintaining a clean, streamlined exterior appearance. - Stamped Concrete Finish
Protection doesn't have to be ugly. The decorative finish adds style to substance, so it looks as good as it performs.

Defender Tornado Storm Shelter FAQs
FEMA recommends three square feet of floor space for each person in a tornado storm shelter.
Lead times vary depending on the season. Normal lead time is three to four weeks from the time of your order until your tornado storm shelter is installed. During the spring and fall, tornado season lead time may increase to six to eight weeks. Expedited orders are available for additional costs.
The Defender concrete storm shelter is backed by a 10-year manufacturer warranty, giving you long-term peace of mind. It’s built for durability and storm-ready performance, and the warranty reflects the confidence behind its construction and materials.
Installing your Defender shelter is typically quick and straightforward, but there are a few site requirements to ensure a smooth and safe installation.
Here’s what to keep in mind:
- We require at least 10 feet of horizontal clearance to access the installation area (more if sharp turns are involved).
- Our knuckle boom truck is approximately 14 feet tall, so adequate vertical clearance is necessary.
- Most municipalities require shelters to be installed at least 5 feet from property lines, but local guidelines will need to be confirmed.
- Do not place the shelter over underground utility lines, beneath overhead utility lines, or in areas prone to flooding.
- Choose a location that allows for quick and easy access during severe weather.
- If your city requires a building permit, the homeowner is responsible for obtaining the proper permit before installation.
